STI International GP6

This is the only model availble in the USA

 October 23 2008 Newest update

We have successfully completed jumping through all of the necessary legal hoops, and the GP6s have FINALLY landed in the USA!

The initial reviews have been outstanding and based on it's performance overseas we are expecting great things from this pistol. We have extras in stock so if you or your customers are looking for the best SA/DA pistol around give us a call and we can have them to you very quickly. Once word gets out on these we probably won't be able to keep them in stock, so grab yours now!

06/11/2008  update

The GP6 has been approved by the BATF&E,

AND the Import Permit has been approved! That was the good news. The "other kind' a news" is that the first shipment to the U.S. (and it’s not a small one) is sold out! We’ve got another large lot in-process that is, as yet, unspoken for. As in all good things, it’ll be first come, first served! It should be interesting to see how these fare in the "Production" division at USPSA. If their European successes are any indicator; we expect them to quickly make a name for themselves.

04/22/08 update

The GP6 is in the hands of the BATF for approval. They've estimated a mid-May release. All other hurdles have been cleared and guns are being built! We were able to take one to the "Space City Challenge" down around Houston this past weekend. Based on customer response there and the test firings that we've done here, we think we've got a winner. We'll be getting it out for our domestic Distributors to play with over the next couple of weeks.

04/02/08 update

The 1st GP6 is “in-country” and on its way to the BATF who has promised a quick turn around on the approval. If you were a reporter, I’d tell you that you have a “scoop” and an exclusive.

01/09/2008 update

Well, we now have the BATF approval to import the GP6 so that we can submit it to the BATF for their approval to import it! Follow that? It still seems that nothing moves quickly when you want it to. What it does mean though is, we’ll probably have them at SHOT!

11/21/2007 update

We are still waiting for BATF approval for the import of the GP6, the DA/SA polymer pistol that is being made for us in Slovakia. Reports from those of our European Distributors who have them now are very favorable. Our apologies to our U.S., Asian, and other partners for the delay. It just seems that nothing moves quickly in a bureaucracy.

  1. Currently ONLY the GP product, the K100, has been approved by the U.S. B.A.T.F for import into (or through) this country, so that will be the first product available here or, in quantities of less than 100, to Australia and most of Asia. The GP product, the P1, has been submitted for approval. Those are the only two GP specific products that are being submitted at this time. For all other GP specific products you must go directly to GP, regardless of quantity, for the time being.

  2. The only current product that we will call STI specific is the GP6. This is (what we consider) an upgrade to the K100 which STI has contributed to. It is currently available to ALL of you except the U.S. and Canada, directly from GP for the moment. Samples have been submitted to the BATF for approval for import and we have every confidence that the approval will happen without delay. This product, like all STI specific products, will not be available outside of STI’s distribution stream.

  3. The next STI specific product will be called the GP7. We won’t discuss this one in depth right now because of pending patents. I honestly expect this one to not be available for 8-9 months. (Maybe 11 in the U.S. and Canada, depending on the approval cycle.)

This is a "for real" opportunity for many of you and Grand Power is a "for real" company experienced in firearm manufacturing. Mike Voigt and I have been there. We have toured the GP facility and all of their vendor’s facilities. We have been with them when they demonstrated their products to law enforcement agencies in Slovakia. We have inspected and test fired samples directly off the production line.

Additionally, I was present in Cheval Blanc, France last month when the Slovak Team won the Production Division portion of the IPSC Level IV European Championship. While I was there, we exhibited a STI GP6 and allowed other country’s teams and individuals to test the new model. All were pleased and pronounced it to be a better gun than the ones they were currently using. No one was appalled by the price.

We look forward to a long, pleasant, and profitable relationship with Grand Power and we are sure that you will be pleased with the products we bring you, together! Website updates and pictures to follow shortly.
