Grand Power history

Chronological order from development to production of K100 :


Year 1994: First construction sketches of the gun originated.

Year 1996: Presentment of patent application and consequently registered for international process patent.

Year 1997: First functional example of pistol manufactured by machine plant in Považská Bystrica with marking Q2000 and production number E001.

Year 1998: First prototypes of K1 manufactured in Kinex Grand - subsidiary firm Kinex Bytča.

Year 2000: For the first time was K1 introduced on IWA exhibition in Nurnberg.

Year 2002: Modification of K1 and change of name to K100, for shortness of production capacity overtakes manufacturing from Grand Power company KOPS Limited in Detva.

Year 2003: Test series of 370 pieces manufactured by company Grand Power.

Year 2003: Second modificated series, based on testing the test series.  

Year 2004: Portfolio of Grand Power extended to new starting system with models DAO and QA.Economical model K100 with marking GPC9 and special automatic models 102R and 105R for force control.

Year 2005: Third series, new offer list extension of model K100 Whisper and intoduction to advanced phase of processing model K100 Compact (15 mm shorter) based on new conversion of plastic frame with emphasis to suitability.            

Year 2006: Introduction of first models K100Mk6 assigned for certification to USA and final consecutive certification.     

Year 2006: Intoduction of semicompact model P1.  

Year 2008: Finnally arrived in the USA as the STI GP6 model.   

Future: Plan for the future to produce specific models also in caliber .40S&W and .45ACP.
